Pregnancy Concerns: Light Cramping & Ultrasound Results - 14 Weeks

Question
I am 23 years old and I have no children yet however I am 14 weeks pregnant and my LMP was around june 21st.  I have a few questions:  I have been having some light cramping for the last couple of weeks (no bleeding), it is not constant and does not hurt, is this normal?  I have had two ultrasounds one at 9 weeks and one at 11 weeks, and we could hear the heart beat and everything looked good, being that I have heard my babies heart beat and everything, does that decrease the chance of something going wrong?  Would I know if something went wrong?  And finally when will I start to show, and is it a gradual process, or will it happen quickly?  Thank you for all your help!

Answer
It is common to have mild contractions throughout the pregnancy. As long as you are not having bleeding and heavy cramping, don't worry. Usually, for the first baby, you will start to "show" at 20 weeks gestation (when the fundus of your uterus reaches your belly button). You will start feeling the baby move ("quickening") at 22 weeks. Good luck.
