Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): Symptoms, Diagnosis & Asymptomatic Cases
Questioncan PCO be asymptomatic?.can it happen in non obese woman?
AnswerThe diagnosis of PCOS is usually made by a series of symptoms and blood tests. There is amenorrhea or oligomenorrhea, hirutism, obesity, and infertility. However, not all of these must be present. Often, there is the presence of multiple cysts in your ovary (by sonogram) and an abnormality of certain hormones and hormone releasing factors. Infertility is common. It is related to an intlerance to carbohydrates. Obesity is not required to make the diagnosis of PCOS.
