the first day of my last menstrual period
was 4-17-05.
I have been having pain in my right ribs below & to the inside of my right breast. It occurs 2-3 inches below my sternum on the right side. The pain feels like a muscle popping out of place. Occurs 20 times per day, why?
Answer -
Are you pregnant? If your last period started on April 17, you would have been due to have the baby on January 24. If you are not pregnant, why is it that you have not had a period since April? There are many reasons why you may have pain in your ribs. It can be costochondritis (inflammation in your ribs) which can be alleviated with pain medication. It could be (as you said) muscle spasms. You may have a cold which can cause pain in your ribs. Certainly, if you are having pains twenty times per day, you should have it evaluated by your doctor.
Sorry...yes, I am Pregnant 4-17-06 is my due date. So if you could please answer my question again I would appreciate it!

AnswerIf you are due to have the baby on April 17, you are now40 weeks 5 days pregnant. At this stage of pregnancy, the fetus is pushing up on all your abdominal organs and the muscles are stretching. All of these pressures can put a strain on your muscles and cause rib pain, and muscle pain. As long as you feel the baby moving every doay, all is well with the baby. If you have any concerns, consult your doctor and have an exam.
