Delayed Period & Potential Pregnancy: What Could It Mean?

Question
I am 23, no children, not on any birth control and my last menstrual cycle started Jan 4, 2006. My husband (37) had a vesectomy about 8 years ago although he was never tested afterwards. I took 2 home pregnancy tests a couple of weeks ago and they both said negative. I've gained about 4-5 lbs although my diet and exercise (cardio 30 minutes 3-5 times a week) haven't changed. My stomach feels bloated, my breast are more sensitive, although some days they don't hurt, the smell of pickles and lobster, amoung other things makes me very ill, I get dizzy and light headed if I stand up or move suddenly and I have a hard time sitting or standing in one place for very long. None of this is normal. Why could my period be this late? Could I still be pregnant or what else might be causing my period to be months late? (I'm not under any undue stress or anything else out of my norm. My periods are usually very close to clock work always coming within 1-3 days of schedule).

Answer
If you are more than 2 months late for your period and two pregnancy tests were negative, you a most likely not pregnant. If you still have doubts, take a blood test for pregnancy (Beta HCG) twice, 48 hours apart. If both values are less than 5, you are definitely not pregnant. YOu probably have some hormonal imbalance and should be given Provera 10mg twice a day for 5 days, and your period will start within 10 days. Go to a gyn.
