Nipple Discoloration & Pregnancy: What Does It Mean?

I was wondering if discoloration of nipples such as purple is this a sign of being pregant

Hi Tonya,

When you are pregnant your areola (the dark area of the breast, which also includes the nipple) does become darker.  For some women this doesn't occur until later in pregnancy, but for others it is a sign of pregnancy.
