Beta-hCG Levels & Early Pregnancy Concerns: What to Expect

my last cycle was 4-28-06 i took pregnancy tests said  positive my beta quant result was 34 is that normal to be 4 weeks pregnant?i took that test 6-1-06 my second test was sat.4-3-06 havent got the results yet but is 34 low anyways i started spotting sunday very light but now its monday and im still spotting ive had 3 misscarriges in the past i have two children 1st child then the misscarriges then my second child which i took prometruim to main tain the pregnancy i am taking prometrium again for a week already but im bleeding so please help by answering this im also on throid medicine i just dont understand the spotting.

An HCG level of 34 at 4 weeks is low.  The best way to know if the pregnancy is viable at this point is to have levels drawn every 48-72 hours to make sure the levels are doubling.  The fact that your HCG level was so low and that you are spotting can indicate that you are going to have a miscarriage.  Your doctor might also want to send you for a transvaginal ultrasound to see what is going on.  I hope everything works out okay.  Good luck and let me know if you need anything else.
