False Negative Pregnancy Tests: What to Do When Pregnant?

Question
I have 1 daughter whom we conceived when I had absent periods for 1 yr prior to conception. I had a "feeling" and bought lots of prgncy tests  and all were negative. I started testing at 7wks through to 24 wks. I am 2 weeks late now (last period was 10 May, 28 day cycle)and I think I have that "feeling" again but hpts are saying negative . Even if I am pregnant, bearing in mind my hpt history last time, is it likely I will get all false negatives again even if I am pregnant. Can it happen again ?

Answer
The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss  your period. If  your last period started on May 10, ovulation would have occurred on May 23 and you could have conceived on May 22,23,24, or 26. Your period was due to start on June 6 and the best time to take a blood test for  pregnancy (Beta HCG) would be after June 13. Some women do not build up HCG  until later.  You have to build up a threshhold. Try agan now. If you do not get a positive result, perform a sonogram after 6 weeks from the first day of your last period. By then, you would see a fetus and a fetal heartbeat.
