QuestionI have a heart shape uterus. Have you heard of this. I don't know if it is inside or outside. There is a surgery that can make your uterus more regular. Have you heard of any success story's of pregancy. I have had one miscarriage. I was at eleven weeks but the baby was at six and a half weeks when I had my ultrasound. The ultrasound of the baby showed a spit in my uterus. I have since had one more and that is where we found the heart shape. I am suppose to get another ultrasound, to find out if it is inside or outside. I would just like to know if the surgery works and if I can have a baby. I don't have any children of my own but I do have three stepchildren. Thanks for all of your help.
AnswerHi Nedra :)
Many women have heart shaped uterus :) Many are able to have healthy, full term pregnancies as well.
Your condition however, sounds like its a little more complex then just a heart shaped uterus.
There is a condition, that is actually a birth defect of the uterus. The uterus doesnt form properly, basically it has 2 horns, and some do split in the middle. I wonder if this is what your problem could be?
Even if you decide to have surgery, keep in mind that you would have a scar in the uterus. If you get pregnant, it does pose a risk for uterine rupture. The chances are extremely slim, but it is a risk.
I dont know how severe your condition is, because I dont quite understand your question. If its just an issue of having a heart shaped uterus, then yes you could have a healthy pregnancy, and a healthy baby. Ladies do it everyday with heart shaped uterus.
If its more complicated, like I suspect, then its a different story. Its possible to get pregnant, and have a baby, but you could have a misscarriages before hand, due to the baby growin in the narrow opening, or to high, or low in the uterus, giveing it no room to grow.
If you could give me more details on your condition, I will do my best to help you. Your question was difficult to understand, so I answered it the best I could.
Hope it was of some help, and feel free to write back if you have any more questions:)
