QuestionI have been taking Loestrin 24 since October 2006 - every month I had breakthrough bleeding for about 5-6 days and than when I finished the active pills I would get my period again. I assumed this was normal being that I was just starting BC pills after having a baby in July. I was giving it 3 months to see if my my body would get use to the new pill.
Last month was different though - I had breakthrough bleeding in week 3 (6 days left of active pills) which ended on my last day of the active pills, but than when I was suppose to get my period it never came.
Should I be worried about pregnancy? Worried about another health issue? Should I switch pills?
Please advise. Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds to me like you are not on the correct dosage of pills for you. Sometimes it takes a little trial and error to get the dosage exactly right to eliminate the breakthrough bleeding.
I suggest that you call your doctor and explain that you are having a full week of bleeding through week 3 of your pills since you began them and then until this month had a full period besides. They may have you come in for a pregnancy test (just to be cautious) before changing your dosages. But it should be fixable with a new script.
