QuestionI went to planned parent hood and took a urine pregnancy test.It wasn't first morning urine.I really didn't have to piss at the time, so i kind of forced it out.I waited in the waiting room for maybe 10 mins. and the nurse called me in.She told me my test results were negative. She told me if I don't get my period in 3-4 weeks to come back and take another test.My question is I have all the symptoms, appetite changes(alot),cramping, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and NO period. I am now 13 days late. Can I still be pregnant?
AnswerDear Becca,
It is possible that you may still be pregnant and the level of hCG in the urine was just not high enough to be picked up by the test yet.
My suggestion would be to wait another 7-10 days and re-test if you have not had a period. hCG levels double every 48-72 hours in healthy early pregnancies, so testing every 7-10 days early on can make a big difference. FYI - most facilities use essentially the same tests/technology for urine tests that you can buy for use at home. Just make sure that you read the box and purchase one that has a minimum reading of 25 mIU/ml. That may help you so that you CAN get a 1st morning sample and won't have to worry about "going" when you don't really have to. :-)
I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
