Early Pregnancy Concerns: Gestational Sac, Cramps & What to Expect

Question
I have 2 questions to ask. First I am 6 weeks pregnant. I had an u/s done about 3 days ago and they could see the gestational sac, but no baby. They told me that was normal but I have read that at 5 weeks you should be able to see the baby and sometimes a heartbeat. Was it to early or could there be something wrong? Second, when I do alot of walking or moving around I go to cramping in the lower put of my abdomen. It is just mild cramps but it still worrys me. Can this be normal to, or do you think I need to get into the dr. They told me to come in on Jan 2 for another u/s, but do you think I need to see them sooner? Oh, to let you know so far there has been no bleeding. Thanks

Answer
Hi Tabitha,

Congratulations on your pregnancy.  I can not answer the first part of your question.  As for mild cramps, they do happen around this stage in pregnancy.  If you can call an advice nurse, I would recommend to do this just to make sure.  Drink lots of water, and rest when you feel you need to.
Good luck!

Anna
