QuestionI'm stuck in the most uncomfortabul situation ever! well let me start off by saying I was on depo prevera (the shot) for 2 years. and got off about 5 months ago. I did not have a period for the whole two years or for that five months. I had unprotected sex during that time period. while I was living in florida. then I moved to california where I live now. I had gotten my period not to long after i moved up here. I had taken a pregnancy test that read negitive but that was before I had gotten that period. so soon after that I met a new guy and we started going out starting new years which was jan,1,2008. and we started having sex. then i got another period following the last one and everything seemed normal like before I ever was on birthcontrol. then febuary 8th and 9th I had a really short light period. so I do think there was a possibulity that I was pregnant while i had that messed up 2 day light period which was my last. I waited until I was a little over due for another one I come to find out by taking a pregnancy test I was indeed pregant. then i went to the doctors to confrim it and it came back positive again. and based on my last period which was feb 8th and 9th the short period. she said I was about 5 to 7 weeks. but then my boyfriend started questioning if the is even his. and this has lead me to analyzie everything. and at a time I this all I want to be is happy. we just got married after finding out I was pregant and I just feel that this is a time where I need closuer and I'm trying to find it. because I don't like having doubts running through my mind. so I have searched around online looking at fourms woundering even though I got my period can could I still have been pregnant from the pervious guy in florida? because the fourms online say that women report having periods while bing pregant all of the time. but its really infalmation. this i already know. but what should I do? am I safe? and with all of the heavy drinking and partying woul'nt i have had a misscarige or something If i was pregant alalong and did'nt know it?

OK, you said you started dating this man on 1/1 and had since had two periods, correct? One was normal and one was a two-day period which is short for you on 2/8-9. So, obviously you have had at least two periods since meeting him.
Also, the doctor has to be basing the gestational age of the pregnancy on more than just your last menstrual period calculation. She either is looking at ultrasound confirmation, which is the MOST conclusive for dating the pregnancy in the first 12 weeks, or comparing LMP with the hCG levels. If your hCG levels were not matching up to the LMP calculations, she would be questioning dates, multiples, or another problem. Therefore, I would suspect that LMP calculations were probably correct. If so, I calculate that you likely conceived around 2/22 and have an estimated due date of 11/14/08. This would make you 10 weeks, 5 days today.
Also, you might want to keep in mind... if this man is the only one you have had sex with since 1/1, the only way it could be anyone else's baby is if you were well over 16 weeks along today.
