Possible Pregnancy After Intercourse Without Ejaculation: Symptoms & Concerns

Question
I'm probably worried over nothing but my last period was November 26th-November 31rst. My bf masterbated for me on December 18th but he didn't cum. Then he fingered me but we think his hands didn't have any precum still on them. Could I possibly be pregnant from this? I'm 27 years old and my periods are usually alot more regular and though I have been late a few rare times by up to a week I've never been this late before. Also this is the only sexual contact I've had (I'm wanting to wait until marriage) so there is nothing else that I could possibly be pregnant from.

Answer
Dear Stephanie,

If he did not ejaculate, the chances that you would have conceived from that event are very low. Although pre-ejaculate can have sperm cells contained within it, this type of contact does not typically result in a pregnancy. Also... If you had a regular period on 11/26 and you typically have 28 day cycles, you would have been expected to ovulate on/about 11/10. You would have been past your ovulation date. So, I would suspect this is simply an odd cycle for you. There are many potential causes that can contribute to irregular cycles. They are:
-Significant weight gain or loss
-Excessive or strenuous exercise
-Poor nutrition (or a diet too high in carbohydrates)
-Smoking
-Drug use
-Excessive caffeine intake
-Excessive alcohol use (interfering with how the liver metabolizes estrogen and progesterone)
-Eating disorders
-Increased stress
-Polycystic ovarian syndrome/estrogen dominance
-Uterine abnormalities (fibroids/cysts/polyps/endometriosis)
-Hormonal imbalance related to perimenopause
-Medications
-Chemotherapy
-Thyroid dysfunction
-Recent childbirth, miscarriage, or D%26C
-Breastfeeding

More than likely your cycles will return to a fairly normal pattern, but keep in mind that as we age we cannot count on them being so much like clockwork as we did in our youth (not that you are old!). We really don't get concerned until a woman misses three consecutive periods and pregnancy is not the reason OR if periods become very heavy with or without clotting on a rather continual basis. At that point, you should see your doctor so that a cause can be determined.

I hope that this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well and a Happy New Year!
