QuestionQUESTION: Hi, thanks again for taking time to read my questions...i have two questions for you.......you see after ovulation your temperature may stay rise IF pregnant well this is my first month monitoring my temperature so i don't know what my temps were before ovulation however i have 3 days left until my period is supposed to arrive and i just want to know in the las week my temps have risen but now my temps are staying at 36.8 (98.24) so what does it mean when your temperature stays at a certain level this is the highest its been because 5 days ago it was 36.7 (98.06) but now its been 98.24 like for the past 4days..??
And my last question to you is..you see when your period is about to come what day would the temps usually drop like if there is an average..?? like would it be a day before or like 3days before

ANSWER: Without the history of taking your temps before this it is impossible to tell what is "normal" for you. But in general, your temps will fall on the day your period starts or the day before.
The temperatures will often rise and fall. During the pre-ovulatory phase, they will rise and fall and then rise at least .4 degrees when you ovulate and continue to rise and fall from that point. When you look at them (and for this I suggest you get a book that has pictures of charts so you can see what I mean) there will not be a straight line of all the same temperatures. There will be slight (or even large) variations but you are taking an average and watching the rise which will come around the time the other symptoms of ovulation will also be changing. They are all coordinated and dance together.

If they do not fall in a few days, that is a sign as good as a pregnancy test. Unless you are having a long cycle so you might have to wait until the number of days of your longest cycle.

QUESTION: Thanks..and i also wanted to ask...you see how they say once you conceive your cervix becomes soft and high..well what if it's low and soft..?? or low and firm but the entrance feels soft...??? because i have heard people to say it has to be high or you are not pregnant but on the other hand Ive heard woman say that their cervix was low and firm and never had risen until weeks into their pregnancy thank you very much for your time Brigid
ANSWER: Jasmine, I'm sorry but I don't have much experience with cervix signs. You are probably getting a good idea of what it's like from your friends. Sometimes for some women it's one way and for other women it's another way. I would rely on the temperature sign and if you really want to know you can get a pregnancy test, too. But that costs money.

QUESTION: Hi Brigid, thanks for answering my last question but i just have ONE more for you..so my period was due yesterday and i waited all day and never got it so i just woke up at 3am and done a pregnancy test...there is a second line but it's very light but visible like i dont have to place it under a light to see i can see..soo now im wondering what exactly does this mean..i'm pregnant..?? because as you may already know i dont want to be...some people have said a line is a line so it's a positive but i just wanted reassurance off someone who wasn't just going to advise on how their own pregnancy was if you understand what i mean..the test has been next to me for over half an hour now with the same 2 lines..i was hoping they would go a way and it was just evaporated lines..but they haven't..any advice please..??
AnswerJasmine: I think you are pregnant. I thought that when you told me that your temps had risen above where they had been. That is what pregnancy hormones do. I know you don't want to be pregnant but it sounds like you are. I will continue to pray for you because this is a tough thing for you to get your head around.
