Lupron During Pregnancy: Risks, Side Effects & Endometriosis Treatment

Question
I was diagnosed with endo 6 years ago.  In 2008 I had 6 months treatment with Lupron, I had the side effects everybody talks about but it relived the pain. After the treatment everything was good until four months ago I started suffering the symptoms of the endo very badly, so my Dr prescribed me 6 months more with lupron! only this time the side effects are killing me, I'm nauseous and dizzy all the time, my blood pressure is coming high, that I'm so afraid of having a heart attack or something.  Because of the nausea I suspect I might be pregnant, I'm so afraid of being pregnant while this treatment I don't even dear going for a test. My question to you is: What could possible happen to a baby conceived while having lupron treatment?

I'm so sorry to hear about your side effects with Lupron...I have never been a big fan of Lupron for those reasons and everyone seems to have a list of side effects that vary...
I have researched an answer to your question. I have found that, "yes", doctors are saying that an unborn child could have birth defects if conceived while on Lupron, but they are not being too detailed as to what. One of the comments I read was that low birth weigh could happen with an unborn child. Other than that, I don't think anyone really knows what the defects could be (at least from what I had read thus far).
My best advice, would be to get to your doctor to check things out...see what they say. I understand your fear, not to mention feeling horrible every day...its alot to think about.
And as far as having a heart attack...don't worry, being a nervous wreck about everything else is probably making you feel all the more anxious, I don't blame you...I'd be the same way. Try to relax until you get a clear answer.
I wish you the best of luck and good health and that all works out.
