Question

ANSWER: Tweegy,

At 6 weeks it is very early to see anything on an ultrasound and it may be that your dates are slightly wrong or just too small to been seen on the screen. It isn't unusal to have bleeding in early pregnancy. I am really sorry to say that only time will find out. Did the hospital take any blood tests to check you hCG levels? Have you had the results? Are they doing another scan in 2 weeks?

To be able to see anything on the screen you usually have to be about 6-8 weeks, and you are on the lower side of that. Try to rest, take it easy and give your body a chance.

I really hope for you that it is not a miscarriage.

Kind regards,

Christine

QUESTION: hi Christine,
that was really nice of you n supportive as well. Christine the prob is bleeding has bekum dark brown now, after 3days of brown spotting. its still light only when i go to washroom. ill go to hosp today.

Answer
The dark brown blood is deoxygenated blood, that just means its been a long time since it passed through the heart. It may be spots of blood from high up in your uterus that have passed through. It is good that the bright red blood has stopped, that means its not being produced fresh.

I hope things went well at the hospital. If you are sure of your dates, I would try and wait 1-2 weeks and then ask them to scan again and check for a fetal heartbeat. I would also ask them to monitor your hCG levels, although I am not completely sure if your medical service is the same as ours here in the UK (not sure where you are from). If you want some more pregnancy advice I can recommend a fantastic website www.madmums.com There are a lot of ladies on there that have had similar experiences and will be able to offer you help and support from a personal point of view.

Kind regards,

Christine
