Understanding Post-Misdiagnosis Bleeding in Early Pregnancy: What to Do

Question
Hello Sara,
I really need someone to help me, this is my first preg and ends on the 13th week. I was mistaken a family doctor with gyn, so when the bleedings happened I went to the emergency. After two weeks I still have light brown mucus like bleeding, but the doctor said it's clean, nothing to worry about. He does'nt even bother to tell me the cause, although he has the stack of report and just ignore the one said bacteria in urine! What should I do? I feel he's hard to trust and I can fool myself and let this happen again next time. Would you please tell me what is the best i should do and are these symptoms normal? Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hello Yuan
Firstly, the brown discharge is normal & is the bleeding coming to an end. Because the doctor says it's clean, I am thinking that you have had tests &/or the doctor has examined you? As long as you have no pain, feel well & the discharge does not smell bad then you can expect it to stop very soon.
The bacteria in your urine could be harmless, we all have good bacteria in our bodies. Bacteria in your urine doesn't always mean you have an infection. If you have any problems with passing urine such as going too often or too little, it hurts or burns, or your urine is dark or a strange colour/smell then go and see another doctor.

You should find that your body will settle in the next 2 weeks. If you find anything unusual in your urine or discharge such as a nasty smell, unusual colour, irritation or pain or you develop a temperature and feel unwell, do go and see your doctor again.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

Kindest Regards
Sarah
