Heart Rate and Gender: Separating Fact from Fiction

Question
Hi,
I was curious about whether or not there is a medical reason behind this theory. I know that the theory states that faster heartbeats are more often girls and slower boys, but I was wondering what would make that happen physiologically if there is any truth to it? In other words, what makes a girls heartbeat faster?
Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi there,

As far as I know, there is no medical reason for the idea that heart rate can be an indication of gender.  Although lots of people are aware of it, so I don't think we can really be sure.

Sorry I don't have more information about this.  It is a fun thing to be aware of while you are pregnant, though. :)

Hope you are having a great day.
