I had my period form 12-5-08 till 12-25-08 20 days exactly. i bleed so bad for 19days. my fiance and i thought i miscarried. because i had no insurance at the time, i could not be seen by a Dr. and i have an upcoming appointment at an OBGYN on the 22nd of Jan. The thing is I haven't had my period since and it has be over 14 days. i took a test for the heck of it and it was negative. i have another prescription for prometrium and clomid 100mg days 3-5 should i take it and make my period come?? please help me. scared to death.
ANSWER: Hello Keke,
Do not take the Clomid at this time. In reality,
Clomid should be a monitored cycle. That is, you doctor should be doing ultrasounds to see if you are responding, how you are responding and to help time intercourse. It should not be given as a prescription to go home and try on your own.
The reason you have not had a period is because you had such a long bleed. Your ovaries and uterus need to get re-set before it will cycle normally again. It make take 4 weeks to do so.
I do recommend that you go to see someone who know about infertility and fertility treatments.
I hope this helps,

QUESTION: Doc, it has been 4 weeks since my last period... so now what?
AnswerHello Again,
If you see a specialist as I suggested previously, that doctor will start your period for using using medication. It is an easy treatment. Then you will be ready to start another treatment cycle if that is appropriate.
