Post-Abortion & Emergency Contraception: A Timeline and Concerns

Question
Hello.
I had an abortion at 7th of August 2012 at 7 weeks.
A week later, I had sex and used emergency contraceptive pill (Postinor 2). Three weeks later (On the 7th Sept), I took a home pregnancy kit and it was negative. On the following day, I had sex and used ECP. A week later(On the 14th of Sept), I had sex and took.HCP. Due to the pill, i have been spotting for a day. Despite worried whether being pregnant, I took a hpt and found negative. On the 18th of September, I began experiencing horrible cramps and backache and bleed heavily like a normal period. However it ended in 5 days where the fifth day was just a dot. Would that be my period? Is period after abortion suppose to be heavy and last for 7 days? I used to bleed regularly for 6-7 days.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Answer
This is all normal.  You have your period now and are at risk for pregnancy if you have unprotected intercourse.  The emergency contraception affects the normal cycle and causes it to be longer or shorter.  Do not worry.  You should consider a more reliable form of birth control.
