Missed Period After Lupron: What to Do?
Questionhello I was wondering if I could be pregnant. I was scheduled to take the Lupron shot for 6 months starting in March. I took the shot in March and got a menstrual in April and took the second shot in April and got no menstrual in May. When May came I didn't get my shot b/c the pharmacy forgot to mail it to my doctors so I just skipped the shot and haven't been back to get the shot. It is not the end of July and I have not gotten my menstrual. At the beginning of July I had light cramping and some brownish spotting for a day and then it stopped. I have some cramping the last 2 days but nothing yet. I have symptoms of pregnancy my breast hurt and have gotten bigger my areola is larger and darker and I have been tired and have had nausea. The last time I did 6 months of Lupron I took my last shot in July and my menstrual came back in September. My doctor said my menstrual should be back by now. Do you think I can be pregnant even though home preg test said negative and so did blood test a month ago and I'm still sexual active?
AnswerHello,
I would still repeat the blood pregnancy test because you could have gotten pregnant in the interim. I presume that you were taking the monthly Lupron 3.75 mg. This would not last more than 2 months therefore, you would be able to become pregnant if you did not use any birth control method.
