QuestionHello, i am 40 yrs old and was told 15 years ago i had high prolactin and adenoma because i missed 3 months of period. I was then put on bromocriptine then dostinex once a week which i took for a couple of years. I never missed a period even after stopping the medication. Now that i my cycle is back to normal, does this mean that my prolactin is back to normal? i am planning on getting pregnant and according to the kit i bought from the pharmacy, there is an ovulation. However, there is no change in my body temperature. Can someone still ovulate with high prolactin?
AnswerHello Monique,
Prolactin will only affect ovulation if it is very high. You should have a fasting prolactin level checked just to make sure. Prolactin can affect the other parts of the process to get pregnant as well and prevent pregnancy. Ovulation is not the only factor it affects.
