QuestionI had a missed miscarriage and a D&C in mid January. I had an ultrasound and blood tests about 7 weeks post D&C and the only things of note were that I had recently ovulated and the endometrium was a bit thin for the estimated time in my cycle. GP told me to expect my periof about 2 weeks later, however other than some mild cramps approx 12-13 days after there was nothing. About 12 days after that I had a postive ovulation test (home kit) and again, approx 7-8 days later I had one very small amount of spotting and 7 -8 days after that (14-16 days after + ovulation test)have had some cramping (bit worse that last time) but no other period symptons. I am currenlty travelling and won't be able to see my GP for at least a few weeks. In the meantime and driving myself crazy. Other than Asherman's is there any other cause of failure to menstruate after ovulation (excluding pregnancy) ? Thanks

If a woman ovulates, and does not become pregnant, then she should have a period 14 days after ovulation. That is an absolute. So if you are sure that you ovulated, but did not have a bleed, then something is amiss. With a history of D&C, Asherman's would certainly be a concern, but a hysteroscopy would need to be done to evaluate for this. I cannot think of any other cause or disorder that would prevent a bleed if ovulation has occurred, other than pregnancy.
You'll probably want to have an evaluation done when you return to your home. Do you have any other option, other than seeing a GP? I would recommend either a Gynecologist or Reproductive specialist.
