Regulating Your Cycle After a Miscarriage: Natural Approaches & Recovery

Question
Hi,
I lost my baby at 8 weeks in the beginning of October. I've had a period every month since then but they're really irregular, they range from 22-28 days and I don't think I've been ovulating. I was wondering if there were any ways for me to regulate my cycle quickly? I want to start trying for another baby as soon at possible. I would like to hold off on seeing my doctor so any natural at home ways to regulate my cycle would be really helpful. Any other advice on how to prepare my body for a pregnancy would be really helpful as well.
Thank you,
Kailie

Answer
Hello Kallie from the U.S.,

In general, if the menstrual cycle dating with within 7 days, then we do not consider that irregular.  There can be natural variation in cycles so if your cycles are only varying between 22-28 days, that is within acceptable natural variation.  It also indicates that you are ovulating, but it may not always be on cycle day #14.  Ovulation on a 22 day cycle would be around cd#8.

There are no "natural" methods that I know of to regulate a menstrual cycle.  Sorry.  Wish there was.  If ovulation is a problem, the only treatment option would be to use fertility medications whose specific method of action is to induce ovulation.
