QuestionDear Dr. Ramirez,
On Feb 14, day 1 of my cycle, I started a medicated cycle of FET. Two blastocysts were transferred on March 4 and I tested positive for pregnancy 2 weeks later. Also starting March 4, my doctor gave me prednisolone 5mg to be taken 2 tablets twice daily (20mg per day). On April 9 (5 weeks on the drug), I will start to taper off on the Prednisolone. I would like to seek your expert advise on the proper way to taper it off. My doctor told me to reduce the dose by half (10mg daily) and take it for 2 weeks then stop. Does that sound about right?
Thank you so very much for your help.
AnswerHello Susan from Hong Kong,
Your doctor's protocol is okay. I don't think you have to go 2 weeks, 1 week would be enough after tapering but 2 weeks works fine for me if that is his protocol.
Good Luck,
