QuestionHi, this is kinda embarrassing, but I'm 17 and have quite a bit of dark facial hair... I bleached it from when I was 13 but about a month ago I started getting really self-conscious about it so I started waxing, using ready-made strips. But it says on the packet that hair should not grow back for up to 5 weeks, and mine keeps growing back after only a few days!!! I don't know what to do?! I read somewhere that it's not good to wax too often?
Why is my hair growing back so fast? What am I doing wrong? Do you think if I used warm wax it would grow back at the proper rate? I haven't tried that yet. Do you have any advice you can give me?? Please help, I'm desperate! I feel like an ape D:

I think there are several reasons why your hair appears to grow faster. Some people just have faster growing hair, some people's hair is light in colour so doesn't show as much. Even the weather appears to make a difference for some reason in that hair and nails seem to grow faster in the summer.
Like you, I also find that no waxed area of my body stays completely smooth for 5 weeks. After a few days it is growing back. I tend to use Veet, the hair removal cream because it's discreet, painless and relatively cheep but you need to be careful not to leave it on too long as this causes redness, which you don't want on your face.
I'm also wondering if the fact you are so young might mean that your hormones are still sorting themselves out. It's possible that in a year or so you might find that this is less of a concern to you.
A permanent fix is laser treatment, which kills off the root of the hair, or electrolysis, which is similar but is done with a needle and an electrical current. These are both uncomfortable and expensive though so I'd be tempted to leave those as a last resort for now.
I don't think you are doing anything wrong at all with what you are doing but please bare in mind that these sorts of things always look a lot worse to us than they do to anyone else so please also remember all the things about you that are beautiful.
