Bumpy, Blistering Rash: Causes, Symptoms & Relief

last yr on vac i suddenly got a red itcy bumpy almost small blistes on my legs and arms but mainly on my hands. today i was in the sun watching my nephew swim and later the same blistery rash appered again mostly on my hands some on my arms. none on my legs as i was wearing pants. in both incidents my face although exposed was fine.last yr i tryed benydrly, cortizone and nothing helped. however it did not reappear after my vacation so i assumed it was the ocean air. what could this be and what can i do?

Hi Heather,
Were you wearing a sun screen? This can cause a skin reaction when exposed to sunlight (that may explain why it didn't affect your legs when wearing pants).
Sometimes medicines that you take regularly can also be sun sensitive and cause reactions like this. Of course not being able to see the rash hampers my ability to really offer an opinion. It might be a good idea to have this looked at by your healthcare provider should it happen again.
