Causes of Itchy Skin in Warm Weather: Possible Explanations

Question
Hello.  My husband's arms get itchy in the warm weather.   There is nothing on his arms that can be seen. (he is dark complected {white though} and has many tatoos on the arms, all tatoos are many years old)
He does not have any problems in the winter with this.
We see little reason to go to the Dr. since there is nothing there.
I got him some anti-itch cream that helps.  We are just curious what is causing it.   Thanks.

Answer
There are skin conditions that are basically "allergic skin" that are set off by different stimuli, such as cold, water, hot, etc.  Sometimes oral antihistamines such as Zyrtec, Allegra, or Claritan/Clarinex may help... otherwise, a general moisturizing lotion.

Hope this helps...
PS... be careful about benadryl anti-itch creams.... these can be absorbed and may give someone a high dose of benadryl in their bloodstream.
