Thrush and Potential Causes: Addressing Concerns About HIV/AIDS

Question
I am very nervous because while researching on the net it says that AIDS is a big cause of Thrush.  I have been with my husband for 10 years, no fears of cheating, I don't use drugs and am healthy.
Should I have an aids test?  Thanks again.

Hello, I recently was treated with oral antibiotics to cure a sinus infection I did not have. (10 days of Amoxicillian, then 3 days of Ery-tab, which I had to stop due to itching)
I then went to my ENT who told me my symptoms were coming from my TMJ problem not my sinuses.  He prescribed 2 weeks soft food and a mouth splint.
I ate hardly anything besides citrus juice and oatmeal for several days. Slept with a mouth splint for two nights until it started to bother my mouth.
I developed Thrush.  I know antibiotics can cause Thrush but I did not get symptoms (bothersome ones anyway) Untill about 10 days after getting off the antibiotics.
My question is, Is it normal to get the Thrush after stopping the antibiotics?
I have gotten some medicine to clear it up, just want to make sure that it is likely from the antibiotic since I was off them when it started.
Thanks.

Hi R,
Probably it is from the antibiotics. There can be a delayed reaction to antibiotic side effects in some cases.

Answer
Hi R,
I don't see the need for an AID's test if all you say is true. AID's doesn't CAUSE thrush, it allows Thrush to develop because the immune system is depleted. I would think that you would have had a lot of other signs if you had AID's before Thrush would show itself.
