Joint Pain Causes: Tests & Conditions to Rule Out (RA, PCOS & More)

Question
Are there other illnesses besides RA that could be causing these joint pains ? I just want to get everything ruled out/tested.

Also, would PCOS have anything to do with joint pain ? I was recently diagnosed with PCOS.

Thanks for all the advice, Melissa

Hi,

I am 26 years old. Lately I have been having a lot of muscle tiredness along with bilateral pain in my knees and shins and general feelings of aches all over .

My knees ache before I even get out of bed in the mornings , so it isn't due to a lot of activity or sport injury, etc. It starts with a tingly ache and they start with a throbing pain then it gets worse throughout the day.

It is getting to the point where it is hard for me to go up and down my stairs in my house. My MD just gave me some ultracets and told me to use ice. That is not acceptable to me.He did no tests.

I am allergic to NSAIDs so I cannot take Celebrex, Vioxx, etc.

What tests should I ask for in order to rule out rheumatoid arthritis ? It runs in my family (my grandmother had it).

I feel like I am 90, but I am 26. Thanks for your advice.

Ask for Rheumatoid factor, ANA, sed rate, and a uric acid.

Also, ask your doctor if you could take the following to completely stop the pain and stabilize the tissues. OK?
1. caltrate with D twice a day
2. magnesium oxide 500mg twice a day
3. Vit C 1000mg twice a day
4. High potency B complex twice a day
5. Omega 3 fish oil 1000mg caps twice a day

In about 5-7  days the tingling and pain will disappear. OK?

Also, would PCOS have anything to do with joint pain ? I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. Yes, it can secondarily to the fluid retention but the above list will correct that if you also take 1/4 tsp of cinnamon in oatmeal, applesauce, or on buttered oatbread toast every single morning since cinnamon has a glitazide which blocks insulin resistance responsible for PCOS. OK?

www.puritan.com has a good price on cinnamon caps but you would have to take at least 2 500 mg caps every morning to get the effect of 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. OK?

Of course, clear all this with your personal doctor. OK?
