Irregular Bowel Movements: Causes, Solutions & Restoring Your Routine

I used to have a bowel movement like clockwork 'almost' everyday in the morning. I now cant seem to go until later in the afternoon. I eat a high-fibre cereal, fresh fruite and some vegetables every single day. I also drink green tea in lieu of water at least six times a day. Metamucil did not help. Neither did stool softeners.

How can I get my bowel movements back on schedule in the morning?

Answer
Sometimes resetting your bowel habits with a harsh laxative, like Dulcolax will do it... take it the night before.  You don't want to use that stuff too often.  You seem to be doing everything else just fine.  With this change, this could be an indication of low thyroid... if it keeps up, have your doctor do the thyroid blood tests, TSH and T4.
