Understanding Elevated Creatine Kinase (CPK) Levels

Question
Hi, can you tell me what the significance is of an elevated CPK? I recently had mine tested and the result was 200 MM (normal 0-150 for lab). Could this be related to my muscle pain?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
That is a minimal elevation.... sometimes exercise can do that to someone.  We do it often to make sure a medicine is not affecting muscles, like cholesterol medicines rarely do.

I would not get excited about a number that low.... it goes into the thousands when there is a serious problem.
