Persistent Breathing Issues: Understanding Symptoms & Seeking Diagnosis

Question
Medical mystery here dr can't seem to figure out whats wrong?
I'll list all my symptoms I've had in the past 2 months, some may be none related to what's going on now. 2 months ago I started getting frequent restless leg syndrome and had problems sleeping. 1 month ago I noticed a cough it's dry didn't happen enough to get it looked at. 1 week ago I had ear pain saw a Dr he said I had water behind my ear drum told me to use a netti pot. I did and immediately got a headache and post nasal drip. Not to mention my sinuses hurt so bad it felt like my nose was broke. This past Monday I felt run down and tired by the evening I was short of breath (like the air I was breathing wasn't enough). Tuesday still short on breath I also felt dizzy and lightheaded. Slight pain in my chest going thru to my back. Went to the ER they said my oxygen was low and put me on oxygen. They took blood, did a EKG and xray. Said all was fine but one test showed a high likeliness of a blood clot. So off I went for a cat scan. At first they said it was normal. They said I probably had some bronchitis and pleurisy and sent me home with zithromax and steroids. Next day er Dr calls I have tiny pulmonary nodules on lung and rt breast. I waited till Thursday before calling Dr. to tell him I had no improvement. When I got there he said my oxygen was now too high (wth?) at 100% this wasn't normal, normal was 96-98%. He seems to think I having asthma problems and that I'm hyperventilating. He said not to worry about nodules I'll just need another cat scan in 6 mths to see if they grow, he seems sure this isn't the cause of the shortness of breath. told me to use an inhaler and breath in a paper bag and sent me on my way. I've had a temp of 99.6 all week but to them it's not a fever (to me it is, my normal temp is 97.8). Today I still feel like crap my temp is up to 100.0. Walking across the room makes me feel exhausted and dizzy. Even sitting down I feel short on breath. I have no appetite and I'm nauseous. Inhaler only helps for 5min. Breathing in a bag does nothing. And my kidney have started to ache today.

they did give me an albuterol inhaler. For 5min. it works great then it stops. I'm on day 3 of taking methylprednisolone.I haven't noticed it helping but then maybe I'd be worse w/o it?

Answer
I always wonder when we try to come up with a reason to explain a particular sign or symptom, like the blood oxygen... they were right of course to look for the PE, but now that it is 100, I see this as normal, not hyperventilating.  This could easily be a sinus/bronchitis infection.  These take a couple weeks to resolve.    You have been treated.  If you still have sinus congestion, use AFRIN NASAL SPRAY twice a day for 3-5 days.  (Don't use long term for allergies)   Then your symptoms will resolve over the next week or so.

And stay on the steroids at this point, and use the inhaler for symptoms.
