Fish Oil for Heart Health: Does It Worsen Acid Reflux?

I am 35 ys old female. I was thinking of taking fish oil pills for heart health.
Last time I tried it, I kept burping fish taste..so I was told to try putting the pill in the freezer so that it would digest in my stomach. I am on prilosec rx for acid reflux and I was wondering if fish oil pills would aggravate it.. thanks

Hi Connie,
Unfortunately fish oil, to be effective for health, needs to be taken in large quantities. That usually causes your symptom. I haven't heard about freezing it and I would be cautious as that could have an effect on the benefit from the Omega 3 fatty acids for which you are taking the oil.
