Birth Control Pill & PMS: A User's Experience with Anxiety Relief and Return of Symptoms

Question
About 6 years ago I started taking the pill, I started for several reasons but one of the main ones was anxiety and such due to PMS, sure enough the pills helped.
In Oct. (3 months ago) I got a "wild hair" and decided I was tired of taking the pills everyday, worrying about taking them etc.  I thought the symptoms I had years ago were probably isolated and wouldn't return, well to my horror they have!
I started back up on my pills today, I had spotting last week and am cramping again. I should have taken them Sunday ideally I understand but didn't think of it then and read the main reason for "Sunday start" is pregnancy protection and cycle schedule, I don't care about either of those, I just want my hormones back to normal!
My question is two, since I should have started on Sunday can I just take two today, two tomorrow, then continue on with 1 to get the hormones boosted in my system?
When can I expect to see results from taking the pills?  I hope soon, I am a basketcase!!
Thanks.

Answer
you have to watch out for pregnancy when you miss pills, but you can simply just take 1/day and you will get back on a regular cycle after the first month.  Long term use of the pill is safe overall.  If you take too much, it can cause nausea, so the only reasoning I have against doubling up for a couple of days is you getting some nausea.....
