IUD, Irregular Periods & Abnormal Pap Smear: What Could It Mean?

Question
i got pregnant twice on a birth control pill so after my second child my doctor gave me the idea of getting an iud. i did and for the last 2 months i have not had a period. i have not had sex so i know im not pregnant. i got a call from my doctor today that my pap smear came back abnormal. why did it come back normal when ive never had one and why havent i started my period? i havent had any pain so i dont think something is wrong with my iud, but when i go back to the doctor will they have to remove the iud to redo the pap smear or the colposcopy? is this normal?

Answer
Jessica,

I'm not a medical professional so not sure if the IUD has to be removed. I would not recommend the IUD, though or any other hormonal birth control method. There are possible side effects from these, which may be the cause of your lack of period. Also, not sure why your PAP is abnormal. I had an abnormal pap once in my life but when I went back, everything was ok. Please ask your doctor all these health questions.
Is it possible that you could not have any kind of birth control at all right now to let your body go back to normal or natural state?
