i had a pap smear it came out epitheial cell abnormity ASCUS with nothing behind it is this cancer oh this is my first ASCUS cbc good urine good
AnswerASCUS stands for atypical cells of undetermined significance...... so, that is not cancer, but it is the closest classification to normal, without being normal. Usually, we simply repeat the pap in a few months, if still abnormal, then take a closer look with colposcopy, which is like a microscopic view of the cervix.... but, as long as you are going to the doctor, you do not have to worry about cervical cancer.....
