Vaginal Itching During Intercourse: Causes & Solutions

Hello,
I have a question that has to do with vaginal itching. Every time my husband and i have intercourse, i have extreme itching inside and out for about 2 days. It goes away after a few showers but what on earth can this be from?? Could it be yeast?? Please help, we're trying to get pregnant and i don't think this is something that should be happening. My marriage is stressed over this because it is turning me away from him. I can't stand the itching.

There are a lot of possibilities....


could be yeast, but I would expect some thick discharge.

Obviously you are not using condoms as some women develop latex allergies.

Some women can develop an allergy to semen.

A practical way to evaluate this is to try monistat daily for a week and see if it changes the course.  (If so, yeast)

If not, try using hydrocortisone cream daily for a couple weeks... that should suppress allergies.
