QuestionI have a click right around the area of the hyoid bone. I have been seen by my primary and an ent. Both said no big deal. I was doing abdominal crunches and the cartilage on the lower neck that runs from the ear to the collar bone made a slight popping sound. If I broke my hyoid bone would the Dr's be able to tell and would I be in tons of pain?
Answerif you broke it, you would know it at the time of the injury... that you did something that injured it significantly.
The clicking by itself, given a normal exam otherwise, doesn't necessitate doing anything more. Even if you had MRI's, etc, no doctor would attempt repairs for it.
It sounds like you have some inflammation there and some cartilage is rubbing but I agree, no big deal.
