Understanding Bone Metastases After Breast Cancer Treatment: What to Do?

Question
I finished AC chemo February 28th for infiltrating ductal carcinoma, grade II, size 1.5 cm, ER/PR + and Her-2/Neu neg breast cancer.  I had two broken ribs show up on bone scan in January.  I just rescanned last week, and it showed the same fractures plus two new "hot spots" in my ribs and one in my SI joint.  The radiologist called it advancing bone metastases.  My oncologist, however, doesn't seem concerned.  He said a biopsy isn't necessary.  Should I be worried?

Answer
Yes if indeed you have bone metastases it is indeed a matter of concern. Your broken ribs are perhaps not much of a concern and maybe not the one in your SI-joint. Those may have other explanations but the other 2 hot spots should be at least. Probably you should ask for a second opinion.
