Health Risks of Dog Feces Exposure: What You Need to Know
QuestionThis is going to be a weird problem but I am a little concern about the effects it will have on me. I am house sitting for a friend. She has 13 dogs in her house, she allows them to defecate every where. She doesn't have an outdoor space that they can go right now. I didn't know it was as bad until I went into the house that night. She wants me to stay with them but I don't like the smell of the house and they want to climb all over me. They walk in everything then they are on the couch and the bed. I have been there for not more then a couple hours through out the day but I slept there one night. Now I have a sore throat, sneezing and coughing. I was not sick before I went out there. Should I be concerned about bacteria from the fecal matter, I have to clean it up everyone night? I don't know whether its a cold or from being with them. I know I am not allergic because I have a dog of my own that goes outside, never in the house. Could you help me?
Answerthat is pretty revolting.... I would refuse to stay in a house where dogs s*t all over the floor. The sneezing and coughing is probably just a cold or allergies to something (dogs) but it is not unreasonable to refuse to house sit/stay over there with that level of nastiness.
People can be allergic to some dogs but not others.
