SpectraCell MicroNutrient Testing: Benefits & Considerations

Hi.  What is your opinion of the MicroNutrient blood tests? There is a company by the name of SpectraCell (saw online) offering this type of test to check for nutritionel deficiencies.  Thanks

Pam,

Aware of Spectracell and what they offer.  There are other companies with similar offerings.  A baseline micronutrient and to go one step further good minerals and heavy metal toxin analysis is a good thing for someone with unexplained illness or symptoms.  I routinely don't order these tests and certainly don't believe them helpful in managing day-to-day supplement or neutraceutical replacement therapies.  Don't get yourself into a trap of obtaining these tests routinely to see how your supplement program is working, they are typically worthless tests at that point and just an unnecessary expense.
