Post-Birth Control Cycle Irregularities: Causes & Natural Recovery
QuestionHi, I was on orthotricyclen for about 4 years, after trying many other pills and kept having breakthrough bleeding. I went off last year in July and didn't have a period for almost 5 months. I finally went to the doctor and they gave me provera. I had one period from it, then not another for 4 or 5 months again. I finally decided to take the natural route and have been using progesterone cream and have been having regular periods now (I am still using it). Do you know why coming off the pill caused me to not have a period for such a long time? Thanks if you can answer!
AnswerCatie,
No, I really don't know. I just know that hormonal birth control is not something I recommend. I've received a lot of reports from women all over the world listing their problems and side effects from hormonal birth control. Is everything going ok with the progesterone cream? Let me know. Breakthrough bleeding is a common effect of the pill. And also changes in your cycle are somewhat common on the pill. Are you in relative good health now? Write back. thanks for your question.
