QuestionQUESTION: hi
I was 30 wks pregnant last month and lost the baby due my pressure being high think they call it pre-eclampsia(not sure of spelling) i would just like to know if i would be able to fall pregnant again as this was my first baby and should i have been on pressure medication. i am 23 years old. they had to induce labour as when i went for my check up they found no heartbeat for the baby.
ANSWER: Pre-eclampsia should not prevent you from getting pregnant again. Just give your body a chance to recover. It may be a few months before you get your full fertility back.
Once you do get pregnant again, look into the Brewer diet for pregnancy at www.blueribbonbaby.org. Dr. Brewer claimed a 0% rate of pre-eclampsia among his patients who followed this diet, and I can say personally I do not know anyone who has developed pre-eclampsia on this diet.
The most important component of this diet is the two daily eggs. Eggs contain choline, an important nutrient. Choline deficiency produces an identical set of symptoms as pre-eclampsia, leading some nutritionists to believe that pre-eclampsia IS a choline deficiency. Eggs are very high in choline, enough so that a minimum of two daily eggs make be able to eliminate your risk of pre-eclampsia.
The remainder of the diet is also good for growing a healthy baby, and can help prevent IUGR and gestational diabetes, in addition to pre-eclampsia.
So sorry to hear about your loss, but good luck with your future childbearing.

QUESTION: hi
i would just like to know when should i expect my period. i gave birth on the 18 September by induced labour.
AnswerYour fertility should return any time now. Usually women who are not breastfeeding can expect their period within 6-12 weeks of giving birth. The stress of preeclampsia combined with the induced labor may cause your body to take a little longer to recover. If you are anxious to conceive again soon, you can use natural family planning techniques to observe your fertile signs.
