C-Section Experience: A Postpartum Account - Was It the Right Choice?

Question
Hi,
sorry for such a long question.
I have been asking you question during my pregnency and now i delivered my baby via c-section and like to let u know what happened to me.I broke my water naturally at 11 pm and no labour i admitted to the hospital and started 5 minutes apart at around 1.30 am ..then got an epidural and pitocin that increses my labour and dilated me 10 cm and 100% effacement at 12:00 pm when my doctor checked me that was only 2cm and 50% at 8:00am..my doctor said that i am ready to push at 12:00 pm and baby will be delivered with in an hour but it was'nt i pushed for half an hour and it did'nt bring my baby down at all,so my doctor let me sit on delivery bed assuming that gravity might help baby to come down,i was on epidural and this gave me pain on right side of my lower back while contractions ..nurse said it is because of baby's weight as u are in sitting  postion,i was in this position for one and a half hour, then doctor came in and checked and it really did'nt help as doc was expecting she said baby is still high and this has made about 1cm of differnce then i pushed so hard for about one and a half hour that i was poohing on deliver bed and it did'nt make any differnce at all and then at 3:00 am 3 hours after i was checked for 10cm dialation doc said that i think u need a c-section as baby is not coming down at all.i asked the reason and she said either baby is too big or you have very small passage that is the problem due to pelvic bone and all..i cried a lot after 17 hours of labour and so much of normal things that was going on..i was unable to bring my baby and doctor was advicing for a c-section..i said yes because i did;nt want to give my baby so much so pressure and then delivered her at 4:00 pm after c-section....I know there are so much of unnecssary c-sections that happens in US but i want to ask the narrow passage is really a reason for having c-section or not..why i was unable to bring my baby down? Will i not be able to give birth vaginally in future?please reply
thanks a lot

Answer
Shipra,
Congratulations!! It was great to hear from you again. I think the fact that you got a healthy baby even after 17 hrs of labor and a c-section, the c-section was well worth it. You have a healthy baby! You had a very long day and I can understand your frustations, but you did NOT have an unnecessary c-section. Your pelvis was just too narrow and the baby's head was just too big to fit through there. It is perfectly normal that you had a more narrow pelvis. There wasn't anything you did wrong, it's just was how your body was made. If I were you, I would have c-sections from now on. Why would you want to go through all that again and end up with c-section again?
Enjoy your baby now! That first year goes by so fast!!
