QuestionHello, I received an u/s ( at a 3D place )when i was 16 weeks pregnant. and i was told it was a clear boy!! they pointed it out in a sitting position legs wide open, kind of standing on his head. but at 21 weeks i received and u/s from my obgyn and he says NO WAY! this is a girl!! is it possible to mistake a boy???
AnswerDominique,
Yes, it's entirely possible. My mother was told I was a boy, and after having two children, I'm fairly certain I am completely female;-)
16 weeks is also quite early to give a reliable estimate of gender. The best time to tell is between 22-24 weeks. The accuracy of the ultrasound reading depends upon the skill of the technician, which, at vanity 3D ultrasound places, can vary widely. So, it's entirely possible that they were mistaken and the baby is indeed a girl.
