QuestionQUESTION: Hi, I want to know if you could help me figure out my time of conception. I had my period March 12. I tend to have irregular periods but i normally get them two months in a row and i didnt get it the next month. The thing is i had sex with my ex boyfriend march 18, 21 and 30th. Then in april 14/15 I had sex with a new guy. Ive had a series of sonograms. Aug 9th i was 20 wk 1 day, due date 12/26 then aug 14 said i was 20 wks, due date 12/29. Then aug 23rd i had another sonogram it said i was 22 wk 5 days, due 12/23. Sept 18th i had another sonogram said i was 26 wk and due date was 12/25. A lot of info, I know but all were done by diff docs and techs and machines. Based on this information and the accuracy of sonograms at 20 or more wks, when could i have gotten pregnant? In march 30th or april 14? Thank you in advanced for your time.

Unfortunately sonograms at 20 weeks are slightly less reliable than those performed at 7-12 weeks. Based on the consistency between the September 18th and August 9th scans, I would say that your ex (the first partner) is the father.

QUESTION: I understand what you mean. I unfortunately do not have a 12 week one because i didnt know i was pregnant until i went in for that first sonogram in August 9th. If it helps, im slim and pettite. Ive read that its harder to measure when theres more tissue for the scan to see through making it harder for estimating gestation. My belly didnt show until i was 6 months.. Its still small now for 29 weeks.. What advice can you give me?

Yes, I have been told that too by our reproductive sciences lecture. How full your bladder is can also affect it.
The reason I am quite stumped is that you have irregular periods & there are discrepancies between dates...during the inacurate period.
Now this isn't the ideal way to determine pregnancy dating, but I could use it alongside your other dates to get a clearer idea about what's happening here. Have you had your fundal height measured yet?

That is a brief DIY explanation, and maybe YouTube has some videos. Although it's not an accurate means of determining a date alone, it could help me when I compare it with other dates you have given.
