thanks
ANSWER: Dear Emma,
If they give you an EDD of August 22, then your date of November 16 would be your estimated LMP and your estimated date of conception would be November 30.
If those dates don't make sense according to the dates you remember then you should talk to your midwife or doctor to make sure they understand your history. Your due date is really called an EDD - estimated due date. It's a date, give or take two weeks!
It is important if your doctor is considering an induction, since if your dates are off, you may induce at, say, 39 weeks and discover that the baby is really only 37 weeks, and not ready to be born yet. If your doctor is willing to wait until you go into labor naturally, and doesn't rush things along (with Syntocin) then it's not as important to have an exact date.
Best of luck,
Sheva

QUESTION: thanks for your reply... iv have spoken to my midwife and she has not given me much advice. she did tell me that 16/11/11 could have been implantion bleed. which i am hoping it was as there r 2 possible fathers. if it was implantion does that mean it was my 1st day of being pregnant. the second possible father i slept with on 19/11/11 i found out i was pregnant 16/12/11 i no the best thing for me to do is get a dna when baby born but i cant stop worryin. i can not see the hospital starting me off early as i have got the stitch in due to a prev prem birth.
look forward to hearing off you soon

AnswerDear Emma,
Implantation bleeding is usually light cramps and a few spots of dark brown or red blood.
Implantation, and the bleeding that sometimes comes with it, happens approximately 6-12 days after conception.
If your conception date was on or around November 30 (according to the scan) then your implantation bleeding would have been a week or two after that. So your midwife's explanation can't be correct according to her scan dates.
If your mid-November bleeding was implantation bleeding, then you would have conceived around the beginning of November.
So, if November 16 bleeding was implantation, your date of conception would be anywhere between November 4-November 10.
Best of luck,
Sheva
