Understanding Ultrasound Shadows: Causes & Next Steps

Question
QUESTION: I had a shadow to show up a an ultrasound. The dr. couldn't  see anything else on the ultrasound.  The dr. didn't feel anything either.  What could have caused the shadow?  What I felt then, I can no longer feel either.

ANSWER: Do you have the full report? I would need to read all of it to evaluate this.

QUESTION: The radiologist told me that it could be something or it could be nothing.  The report sent to my OBGYN doctor said there was a suspicuous area found, so I am getting an MRI this Thursday to rule things out. after the ultrasound was done the dr there also said I could wait a couple of months and take another ultrasound to see if the shadow is there, but said just in case there something there now, the MRI is the best way to go.  Nothing showed up on the mammograms that I took, which was two because I told them that I felt lumps in both breasts.  I was scheduled back for an ultrasound too just to make sure of thins.  I told that the xray doctor would give me my results then but he had no answers.  The first report sent to my OBGYN doctor said nothing had changed since last year, but on the second visit the next week was when the shadow was seen on my right breast on the ultrasound.

Answer
Well, based on so little information it is unfortunately impossible for me to contribute much. BUT it is a good idea to have an MRI breast scan done because that will clarify things. If nothing dangerous is seen there you can remain calm until next time you are to be checked. Good luck!
