Dr. i just wanted to clarrify my questions in my head since i got this operation. Ive got multiple of cysts to both of my breast and a solid mass on my right breast so i asked my dr. to remove it at first he told me to observed the solid mass if its growing faster but i insisted to simply remove it so he made the breast excessional,but dr. im very disturbed when i got the Pathologist report bec. it seems like the dr. wasnt successfully remove my solid mass which is there in the ultrasound that i made before the operation.My solid mass (1.1 x 1.1 x 1.2 CM)was located on my right breast 9 oclock position and on the same breast ive got lots of Cyts-10 oclock position to name one of the many.
I just thought that maybe my Dr. wasnt able to remove my solid mass instead he removed my cysts which is shown in the pathologist report, im sorry to say that conclusion but Dr. would you help me to understand the patohologist report.
GROSS DESCRIPTION:
Specimen consist of an irregular light pink doughy tissue fragments with fat measuring 3 X 2.5 X 1 CM. showing pinkish white trabeculations and few cysts on the cut surfaces.
MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION
Sections of the breast tissue show small cysts lined by apocrined-like epithelium with associated mild ductal epithelial hyperplasia. NO MICROCALCIFICATIONS and atypical features are observed.
HISTO-PATHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS:
-FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES, BREAST (NO INCREASED RISK TO MALIGNANACY)
Dr. im just wandering because when i asked my dr. how come its fibrocystic changes when in the ultrasound its clear ive got solid mass that should be remove he just said that ultrasound is not accurate, sometimes its shows solid but when you removed it its different...pls. enlighten me Dr. Im afraid to go and and get it check coz maybe the solid mass is still there.

AnswerA solid non cancerous breast mass is usually a fibrocystic mass too! Based on your pathology report I see no reason to doubt that all and everything was removed during surgery. It is easily checked by ultrasound and these things have NOTHING to do with breast cancer! Good luck!
